Egoma seeds, also known as perilla seeds, are grown in Niigata and come from the green-leaved perilla plant (Perilla frutescens). After harvesting, the seeds are lightly roasted, which makes their taste and smell reminiscent of linseed oil. The perilla seeds obtained are edible and particularly rich in
α-linolenic acid, an important omega-3 fatty acid. Since the human body cannot produce α-linolenic acid itself, it is an essential nutrient.

The Egoma seeds are 100% grown and produced in Niigata by organic rice farmer Yasunaka.
