Care Instructions for Iron Kettles
1. First Use: Rinse lightly, then fill with water, bring to a boil, and discard the water several times to season the interior.
2. After Use: Leave the lid open and heat on low for 1–2 minutes to evaporate moisture; wipe the exterior with a dry cloth.
3. Cleaning: Wash the interior with water only; do not use detergent or metal scrubbers, and avoid sudden cooling.
4. Mineral Deposits & Rust: White film or light rust is natural and safe to use. If desired, boil strong tea briefly to reduce it.

Nanbu ironware
is a traditional craft from Iwate Prefecture with over 400 years of
history, made from durable cast iron. Iron kettles produce
mellow-tasting water thanks to the effect of iron ions, and their flavor
improves the more they are used.
